Héctor Álvarez

Héctor Álvarez is a teaching artist, actor and director from Spain based in Chicago. He has been a teaching artist in the Young Critics Program at the Logan Center for the Arts for the past 3 years. Hector also works with Changing Worlds, Lookingglass Theater, Victory Gardens and the Auditorium Theater to bring drama into the classroom and create transformative work with students. Hector studied non-Western theater traditions in China, Japan and Indonesia, and in 2008 received a Watson Fellowship to research community-based performance in Latin America. He has a BA in Theater from Macalester College and an MA in Modern English Literature from University College London. He is an ensemble member at Theatre Y
