Poetry Festival

Have you ever known how talented people can really be? My favorite poem of the Poetry Festival was when the girl fromĀ FISKE sung the song about her life because when she sung, the music was going right with the beat. What stood out to me was the three girls from st.PAULĀ because of the nice dance moves.

The specific lines I remember are, “drop the guns, pick up the books.” The theme of the poem was, never quit school for dumb things. Every poem that was read from every school had something about don’t do drugs or don’t drink.

Conclusion, The Takeaway:

The poem was okay. I liked everyone’s poem.

  1. Hi Kenneth,

I think that your piece began on a strong note with the first sentence drawing you in. I would have liked to see you write a bit more. I would like to know more about how they did the performance. Did they do anything special that stood out from the others? What did they talk about in their poem? What were some of the themes they spoke about? Why do you think this is important? What did that make you feel? By answering or thinking about some of these questions, this will help guide you through writing more in the next sections and with the conclusion.
